Hypothetically speaking, what would happen if American Christians elected Jesus...

they couldn't. Jesus Christ of the Bible isn't a citizen.

but hypothetically i bet they'd all be really angry at him for being a socialist and a pacifist.

The election would be void. Jesus doesn't fit the requirements:
1. 35 years old or more. Jesus died at 33.
2. Citizen born in the USA, or with both parents citizens of the USA.
3. Must have lived in the USA for 14 years or more.

wouldn't that be a violation of the constitutional provision for seperation of church and state--I don't think he'd be allowed to run.

He would be too liberal to get elected in such a right wing country, since he's farther left than Obama. Even though I'm a non-Christian, I would vote for him because he probably won't agree with the right wing agenda. Too bad he is dead and definitely won't qualify for office.

American atheists would decide that they weren't too keen on democracy anymore.
