got me wondering how many on this website who scream for healthcare are actually American? Or are some of you just illegals? And I mean American in the sense that your parents were born here, you were born here, because I see alot of people in the liberal party with no real tie to America... sure they WANT America, for their own, but they are not true Americans

There you go again with the "true American" label!

You can only be a true American if you PARENTS were born here? Go check out a Naturalization Ceremony some time. These people are in tears and overjoyed with their new American status, and most know more about American history than the average high school senior!

Like the illegal Europeans who immigrated here throughout the centuries and took massive amounts of resources away from those who were truly true Americans. If they live in America and work to support it, they’re American. Besides, who cares what nationality they are? This is a moral issue regarding human beings as a whole and their rights. If they are human and can suffer just as much as what you define as Americans can and also contribute to American society (with the type of jobs that most US citizens don’t want to do), then why shouldn’t they have access to the same healthcare and why shouldn’t this healthcare be adequate for their needs (the same goes for everyone, including US citizens)? Also, according to the Constitution, they need to have been born in the US to be US citizens, but their parents don’t have to have been (and this, of course, is excluding the other legal ways of obtaining citizenship). By the way, I am a US citizen by both definitions (I and both of my parents were born in the US).

Well said. You are correct. There are a large number fighting for this health care plan who are not legal to be here, or are legal visitors, not citizens.

It used to be that in order to get health care from your employer you had to stay in school and get a good job. Now they want the non working, non legal, welfare recipients to get all the benefits without hard work. And yes there is probably 10 - 30 million illegals that are screaming for Obama's plan( with more to come if it passes).

Born here. So were my parents. So were my grandparents, so where my great-grandparents, and so were my great-great grandparents. I don't know about before that, perhaps they were illegals. Would that make a con happy to call me an illegal?
