Can anyone please give me ideas of how much clothes to take and what clothes to take as i have never been on a cruise before. It will be hot weather.

Yup because New Zealand weather is so changeable (living through it right now) I would take mostly summer clothes (shorts/tshirts) and then take one warmer thing, like a cardigan or a jersey. Its unlikely that you will need anything more than that (especially not a big coat). I think I would pack a fresh t-shirt/top for every day you are on the cruise, and then half as many shorts and wear them for two days - you don't want to be worrying about laundry. Also, if you're planning on going to some place which is a bit formal (and often cruises have "formal nights") I would take one going out outfit. But other than that, throw on a pair of jandals (flipflops) and remember a hat and some sunnies and you'll be choice!

Hi, I'm form NZ. It's usually pretty warm around Christmas. However, it is still not 'properly' summer so there is still a chance of rain, (although our weather is starting to clear up now!).
You will get away with light clothing but make sure you pack some warmer things just in case. Also, if you are going to be on a boat it could get quite chilly at night time.
ps the Auckland region (if you are going there) is famous for its fickle weather; it could look like a sunny day in the morning, but be raining by lunch time!
