I am going to drive a 40 year old car. will moisture affect the electrical system?

I have a really nice, 1969 Ford Galaxie 500. It is 40 years old, and I am wondering if driving in wet weather would effect the wiring, and if so, which places would it most likely effect? Is there any preventive maintenance that I can do to avoid these problems?

Try to be helpful, I really like my car. It's my first car.

If there is moisture in the gas tank that could be a problem the car would just cut out. But moisture might not affect the electrical system.
