Something from the cat family or you could have them change into two things. One wise and one feirce

Depends if u want it to be an animal or a human but i think she shouls shift to something that flies
I am writing a story and i am putting in a shape shifter but i do not know what she should change into. The friend i am doing it after wants it to be something feirce yet cute. It also has to be able to fight because I am thinking of putting in a fight scene between some things ot something... lost my yrain of thought.

Most critters have to be able to protect themselves and their young.
So I will suggest (ahem) Otters. Yes, Otters. We are fun, but can be fierce.
We can take and eat Beavers. And if you make us big enough, we could take anything.
