I am thinking about buying a bluetooth enabled car. Do I need a bluetooth piece?

I have an Chocolate 2 which is also bluetooth enabled. I never bothered to get the headpiece. So now I am wondering do I need any extra equipment to use the car's bluetooth with my phone.
