I bought a new car stereo and it's locked. Will a dealer install it?

I bought a new NAV/DVD radio for my vehicle. It's stock Delphi for a Cadillac CTS but it's locked. YES it's brand new, still in wrap but what does locked mean? I heard they have to sinc it up to something for the theft control, is that what it is? Will a dealer install it? The reason I didn't buy it from the local dealer is they wanted stupid prices for it and I found one through a going out of business dealer at less than half price. Will I need to take documentation of some sort or will they put it in and sinc it up? I just want to go to the dealer prepared.
