I can add a car audio equalizer without an amplifier?

I have 4 speaker 6 1/2" , I received an equalizer power acoustic peq-71. I want to add it to my car but i dont have an amplifier. Is necessary to have an amplifier? Thanks

An EQ increases or reduces various acoustic frequency bands to suit your tastes and acoustic environment. It DOES NOT amplify (increase volume) if it is strictly an equalizer. Strictly speaking, an amplifier simply increases the power of whatever signal is fed into it. Both are desirable.

no not at all. many after market head units have built in equalizers, some even customizable. it simply changes the amount of what frequency will come through your speakers. amplifiers simply amplify the "noise" coming out of your speakers or subwoofers, hence the name amplifier.
