I can sing acapella but not with background music?

Help!

I can sing while I have no melody playing in the background....
The moment I try to sing with the melody I get losed and/or to focused on the melody and not the words, but I am afriad I will miss a starting/ending point for a word

advice please ?
I sang already infront of others and on youtube and I get good comments
 
There is only 1 good piece of advice you are going to get: practice.

If you want to sing with background music, you need to practice. there is no magic trick or cure, sorry :(

FYI-- people often don't sound nearly as good as they think they do when singing acapella. Make sure you record yourself singing without melody to see where you stand talent wise...
 
Consider yourself lucky! I sound terrible when I sing acapella but I think Im ok with background music. Like the person above said, all it takes is practice. Try to sing with the singer and pay attention/follow along to the background music. & you can also sing along to those karaoke videos on youtube. The words are usually highlighted to help you stay on cue with the music.
