...going a full 180 degrees back and? When I went to start my car, the ignition didn't catch. I could turn my key a full 180 degrees without feeling any catch or hitch or tension/resistance like normal. The lights and radio and all that came on, and the battery light, but the engine didn't start, and I couldn't turn the car "off". I had to disconnect the battery to shut off the car.
this is not the same as when the steering wheel has to be turned in order to turn the ignition. The ignition turns fine. Really really really fine. So fine, it doesn't want to stop.
it's a 96 ford taurus- nothing fancy- 6 cylinder whatever.
Is this the switch, or the cylinder or the coil? I can't find anything useful or my repair manual.
