I don't feed my fish everyday. Is this a bad thing?

Hey I know this sounds strange but for the past week or two I have been feeding my fish every 3 to 4 days instead of everyday. I did this because my tank was disgustingly green with algae (i wasn't cycling btw) and i figured they could survive on the garbage in the tank. Now my tank is crystal clear and I don't want it to go back to the way it was so I just feed them every few days. I am concerned this is to little food but the fish seem to be doing just fine and my tank is nice and clean. Should I go back to daily feeding or continue as I am?

Oh and the fish I have are
-6 neon tetras (small, figure they dont need as much food as a big fish)
-1 cory catfish (eats the food and poop off the gravel at the bottom)

Any comments would be great :)

Research your fish. They are your pets and they depend on you for their lives. Feed them! For goodness sake. I think you knew the answer before you asked it. Give them to someone else who knows how to take care of them, or learn how to do it before they starve to death. As for the tank being so dirty...here's a hint...CLEAN IT!

usally all fish need to be fed atleast once a day but if your really worried try getting a automatic fish feeder here:

I don't know about those fish specifically, but I do know that many species of fish, possible those included, can go a little while without food. In the wild, they don't always come across food everyday.

However, it is better to feed them once a day or at least every two days. I wouldn't go much longer than that.

How about feeding them every other day instead? Algae is usually caused when ur fish light is on too much. try to keep the light off. Also, you should be using a gravel vacuum every week to clean any debris in the gravel. Dont think the cory cat is gonna clean everything.

every other to every third day should be fine, just make sure you watch them, if they start to get skinny you up the feedings. Also it is probably the quantity you are feeding them, you could try smaller feedings every day, probably the same effect.
