I found a dead rabbit in my car bonnet, any ideas how it got there?

Last night while driving out of my drive my car ceased to function and made a terrible racket. I flipped up the bonnet and rummaged around only to find the gruesome remains of my son's pet rabbit, "Squeeks" First, I am intrigued as to how it got there, and also how do I tell my son, Tyrone, that Squeeks has gone to a better place.
Please help,
