I got a dell laptop yesterday and i try to connect to the internet but it wont work?

i have windows vista and its NetZero internet i put in my username and password and click continue and it says the modem is in use by another program (error 633) so i cant even put in my phone # im stuck on the welcome part

ha netzero!! thats the cheapest crapiest internet out there.....when aol was around they were even better than them.But yeah connect the phone cord to the laptop.Maybe that is why it isn't working.
