contest and win? I was parking in a handicap spot on campus (next to my apartment) and I hung the handicap placard on my rear view mirror and still got a ticket. This placard is not issued to me, it is for my uncle, but I can still use it as long as he is with me right? Any reason to make the distance shorter for him from the apartment to the car. We used the placard for the last week, so a few days in a row. What are the rules for using a handicap sign?

I don't understand WHY the police officer issued me a ticket. Do you think he saw me going in and out of the car and thought i wasn't handicapped? Or is there some way for officers to check if a car can use a handicap placard? The officer wrote on the citation.. "lost/stolen placard. correct #----------" The handicap placard I used is legit and the officer wrote a "correct" placard number. It doesn't match the handicap number on my placard. What is this number supposed to be?

If I fight it, I can't speak to the officer who issued it to me. I have to appeal it through the campus parking services. (which, i think, makes it harder to argue) What should I say to them?

please assist! thank you thank you

A handicapped person may use their placard on any car they are in, regardless of if they are driver or passenger. If you uncle really was with you, fight it. You might have to get a sworn or notarized statement by him (most banks have notaries; ask him if he can write a letter saying he was with you and get it notarized at the bank) to prove your case.
