i got a ps3 60gb and just today when im playing cod4 just before it enters...

...game screen goes black. why? ive changed the regular red white and yellow chords to the one of 5 set HD and i also used hdmi chord and it still does the same thing. Do i have a fault in my ps3? ive had it for almost a year and ive never had this problem
 
is there any audio? are you sure you correctly put all the plugs in? are you sure everything is 100% all the way in?

other questions you should be asking yourself, does it do this to other games? what's the condition of the disc, is it scratched up? what color are the lights? is it yellow? is it red? is it the normal green?

if it does this to other games, there is a chance that you have a faulty hard drive, there is a batch of 60GB PS3s with bad hard drives. Immediately call Sony, the best they can do is give you a refurbished PS3. Other than that, you should ask PS3 forums rather than on here.
