I had a dream I fell in love with my crush's best girlfriend?

In reality, my crush is currently in a relationship, which was the same in the dream EXCEPT in the dream, when I tried to contact my crush, through one of her best friends.....I ended up falling love with that best friend, which is weird. I absolutely adore my crush and in reality I could NEVER imagine seeing myself with someone she knows, ESPECIALLY one of her best friends, any suggestions of why I had this dream?
