I had charges pressed on me but now the lady said she would drop them. can she?

i was at a kids house and took his moms card and spent some money on it and she said she would drop the charges if i paid her back. can she drop the charges?

People don't charge people with crimes... the state (prosecutor) does. If the victim is not feeling cooperative then perhaps the state won't be interested in pursuing their case against you, but it's not up to this lady.

First of all, in your original question it'd be "she had pressed charges" not "I had pressed charges" just had to point that out. Second, of course she can! You shouldn't have taken her card, and don't be surprised if she never forgives you, but she can definitely drop the charges at any point she wants.
