If you like your car and want the engine to keep running and not get damaged, you do.

If you don't care about the car or engine, drive the way it is, in fact, drain all the antifreeze out, it'll die a quicker death.

Yes, you do, unless you are constantly moving.

It throws the air around the engine to help keep cool, and also pulls air threw the radiator.
