side will not roll up all the way.? I need to get this resolved in order to pass a safety inspection (although I do not personally understand how the window being down 1 mm compromises the vehicle's safety) I would prefer to fix it in an inexpensive DIY fashion as I do not feel I need to spend $200 to have it looked over and fixed by a repair shop. Something inside seems to be stripped. I have been told that it could be the regulator, but am looking for cheaper options to fix it (even temporarily) using items such as duct tape, vice grips, etc.

It is very likely that you can take the door trim off and push it up and vise grip it there.

A shop manual will tell you how to remove the trim in the body section, then you will have to see how it goes up and down and push it up and hold it somehow.

I used to make a living doing body work.
