i have a hitachi gd-s200 internal dvd drive, can i convert it to an external drive?

this drive was taken out from ibom thinkpad

taken from ibm thinkpad

anyways this is an old model laptop drive so i am not sure if it can still be used
 
Hard drives in laptops are alot smaller than a normal hard drive. You will have to purchase a external enclosure for that size hard drive. Or you could get a IDE/SATA to USB converter without getting an enclosure. www.newegg.com has everything you could ever need for this.
