...worried? Vet says she healthy? She seems to be drinking the same and her stool is normal, theres no vomiting and she still runs around like shes mad. The only thing that has changed is she has slowed down her eating.

no she's just a patient eater sos my dog wen i gave him a different kind of dog food he started eating i like crazy so she's OK i'd say

She's not growing as fast as a puppy anymore because she is almost fully grown which inturn dogs hunger slows down because they don't need as much food anymore. Good Luck and love your goldie they are definately keepers!! Love em!!

Did you switch to HIGH quality food? and so she becomes fuller quicker? Or maybe she realizes nobody is going to take her food away if she eats slowly.

And nothing else has slowed down? I wouldn't consider that a problem. Unless she's not eating at all (or eating VERY little), but in that case she would eventually become lethargic. If your dog's still running around like crazy, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Maybe she knows she's stopped growing

Besides, eating slowly is a GOOD thing. It reduces her risk of bloat.

Puppies need to eat a LOT more because they are still growing like crazy. By a year old the dog is generally considered an adult. While she will probably still grow some more, it isn't nearly as much as between puppy and a year old.

While we are talking about food, please make sure you are feeding a good quality (expensive) food. If you are feeding a cheap food you are getting what you paid for. Cheap foods don't have much nutritious value to them, so dogs eat a lot more of them to get the nutrients they need, and more food going in means more poop coming out. Cheap foods are like eating fast food your entire life, its just not healthy. Expensive foods have much more nutrition and are better for your animal in the long run. You need to feed much less of the good food because it is much more nutritious, and less food means the bag lasts longer and there is less poop. Cheap foods have little actual meat in them and contain more corn and rice and other filler foods, while expensive foods contain a lot more meat, which is what dogs need more of.
