...there a way I can still install it? I used the Product Key written on the inside cover and thought I had it for a while because it was performing checks but then one day it just said I had turned Firewall off and my subscription had expired. I guess I somehow only had a demo version. Can I still install it without having to re-purchase?
 
It is possible but you would need to purchase a portable cd/dvd drive. You can get them for under $100. They just plug into a usb port and are ready to go.
 
I personally wouldn't install that worthless, resource hogging piece of crap on my PC to begin with.

consider an uncompromising download and install of - AVAST - a freebie and just soooooo effective
