I have to write a college paper on how 2 songs address a topic of broad social

interest and...? one of the songs that I was thinking about doing is kind of open to interpretation. Would it be best to choose another song or can I interpret the song the way I see it and write in my paper on how the lyrics of the song address the topic, even though my interpretation may not necessarily reflect the songwriters viewpoint (although I believe it does).
