Your computer does not have a DVD if w/o a disk in it or with a blank disk in it it displays CD drive then you do not have a DVD drive. DVD drives are different from CD drives and they require a different type of drive to read them. Sorry, but it is not going to work for you.
because theres nothing on it so all it can tell is that it is a round disc, and since it generally has cds in it it says its a cd
bad habits
if you yell at it and give it a good disciplining, it should say dvd drive
