I just formatted my laptops hard drive and reinstalled xp pro, now I am wondering...

...what my next step is.? It has been a long time since I have done this and for some reason it is not all coming back to me. I cannot play DVDs so I believe I need to find a decoder. If I recall correctly I need to update all my drivers. If anyone could give me a refresher that would be marvellous.
