i just got a nokia lumia 800 and when i go to take a picture the screen is black how

can i fix this? hi, just got the lumia 800 and put in all of the contacts and set up the phone and went to take a picture, however the screen was black as if the camera was not working... how can i fix this?

I have the same phone, this never happened to me. Make sure you aren't covering the camera or it isn't pitch black (I don't say this to make you seem stupid, but some people are). If not, its a problem with the camera, in which case take it back to the retailer and they should give you a new one as its within the 30 day time limit. Even if it passes that limit, they will still try to fix the phone or replace it with a refurbished one - but it won't be brand new.
