...along with some spotting? I just started birth control (lo-ogestrel) about 2 and a half weeks ago. I started on the first day of my period, as the directions said. Since I started taking it, I have never completely stopped bleeding, although now it's tapered down to some light spotting. In spite of the bleeding, though, I am suffering from pretty severe vaginal dryness. I'm also having some irritation around my clitoris and vaginal opening. I notice it when I wipe after using the bathroom and when my boyfriend and I try to have sex. Sex feels nice but is also painful because of this irritation, so I've had to stop after only a few minutes. Boyfriend took a look and said the area looks a bit red and inflamed, but no sores or anything. We are monogamous and always use condoms so it's not an STD.
I have also been on some pretty heavy-duty antibiotics for an unrelated issue (bacterial skin infection on foot) so this may be related. I do have a drs apt next week so hopefully will be able to get this resolved, but in the meantime I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Any ideas what's going on? It's fairly uncomfortable and has put a major damper on our sexlife. Thanks for any info!
