I just updated my DivX player, I am pretty sure I now have the newest version (it's the freeware version by the way), but I can't find where to check which version I have.
Anyway, the problem is that even when watching a segment of the video that is far from the point the player is currently buffering, it skips little portions of video, freezes momentarily, skips back and repeats the same audio (like half a second of audio) multiple times.
Fast-forward and rewind don't work (there was a download it wanted me to get, a little window came up, after I had already updated, saying the download had enhanced user interface and smooth fast forward a rewind, but when I try to download this, it goes for a minute of two, then says "automatic download failed").
Also, I don't really like the look of the new player (I could deal with this, if not for all the other problems).
I never had any of these problems with the older player, but I'm not sure which version I had before.
So I really have a few questions.
First, how can I check which version I have now?
Second, how can I fix the problems I am having?
Third, why does the automatic download keep failing?
Fourth, is it possible to check which version I used to have?
EDIT: I only have these problems when the screen is maximized, and when it isn't maximized, the interface looks like that of the old DivX I used to have (I am guessing that this is because the website uses that version, but I really don't have any idea if that's why)
To the first two questions below, the website that I am watching TV and movies on has different links to different sites for streaming the videos, and DivX is the only one that can consistently be used for almost all of the videos.
