when I don't have any references? I was recently laid off from my job of 5 years. My boss was strapped for cash and refused to give me my final paycheck until I threatened to take action with the Department of Labor. Now he hates my guts and I can't list him as a job reference to future employers. What should I tell people when they ask why I don't have any references?
