I like making arab jokes AS an arab -- why must some people insist on being

SO politically correct? Make "racist" arab jokes -- but I am half arab. I have to put up with a lot, and I have some great stories about experiencing racism -- I should be able to make a joke out of it, right?
Some people are too politically correct. It's nauseating.

For example,
I've been to the Gulf (UAE)...And after experiencing seeing some of their draconian laws, I remarked to someone, "don't mess around with thugs/people of middle-easterner ancestry, they have a short fuse. No pun intended"

This person said that "it hurts race relations"...blah, blah, blah. This may be excusable since I'm a blond, as they could think I'm white and just being racist, but they've been over to my house, met my -arab- dad. Now, I wouldn't make jokes about other races, as that would indeed be racist. However, my own race? Sorry, when life give you lemons (being arab in this day and age does)...

Arabs are often portrayed as hard-nosed muslim extremist (I don't even believe in god), and loathe any and all acts of violence. I'm not trying to make light of violence, as the extremist violence is petrifying and disgusting, but I think laughing at people who think they'll get 72 virgins for killing innocent people is way of dealing with the horrors of this world. It helps me cope anyway.

I like making arab jokes AS an arab -- why must some people insist on being SO politically correct?

Honestly, no liberal or cocnsevate bashing. Not what I'm looking for.

I believe all this political correctness just separates us further. Laughing is good, it brings us together, and if you can laugh at yourself, your ahead of the curve
