I ask because I like this girl, and we've gone to the same school for about 3 years now. We've had a few classes and just joked around a little bit, but we've never really had much of a serious conversation. It's sort of awkward when we try to have a serious one. I've liked her for about a year and she's known about it for roughly 6 months. Since she's known, we've had a few sort of awkward facebook conversations, I asked her if she felt uncomfortable and she said "lol no" but I'm not so sure..Previously, she had told one of my friends that i was funny and even said I was cute once. When I asked her what she thought of me, she said she didn't think of me like that and mentioned that we haven't talked outside of facebook and don't have any classes.
She's never had a boyfriend before either.
It was 2 months ago that I asked her, but now, I see her looking or staring at school, and when I do, she looks away or either looks startled. At least I caught her a few times doing that and a few times this past week I would be walking by her and look over and she was already looking at me, straight into my eyes though and she'll hold eye contact for a brief moment then look down. Today, I made eye contact with her and she looked back at her friend quickly. Some of her friends seem to look at me strange too. I just don't get why she does this if she says she doesn't think of me the same way...
How likely is it that she's changed her mind recently? Or does she just want to get to know me better before there's anything more? Is she just trying to be nice and not hurt my feelings?
