...Psychology class? It just needs to be something most of the class will find interesting! Please help. Thanks

Understanding the Self: Freud, Psychoanalysis and Surrealism.

Since I am a student of literature, I would prefer this topic. But it would be interesting if you could bring in visual art and literature in your psychological analysis.. You can talk about the Modernism movement and how Freudian notion of the self was crucial in shaping Modernist aesthetics. for instance, the paintings of the Surrealist like Dali. You can also refer to the treatise on Surrealism by Andre Breton.

Then you continue with your discussion of Neo-Freudian theories like Adler and Jung...

good luck...

How the thoughts you have regarding words you selectively speak to someone and how it impacts their thought pattern and reaction and if it's ever breakable through close friendship or the likes.

eg. Is it ever a good time to tell someone something, can you change the time to now.. or does it just have to come from a different source etc

Ask yourself what you would find interesting then just do it don't worry about the other selves in the class - you're the one who has to research it and do the work so it may as well be something you are interested in.

Ideas though seeing as that is the question :) Identity of self and personality as determined by culture (an individualistic society/culture/group or one in which the group comes first and individual needs aren'trecognizedd above the needs of the group - could cover heaps - east/west cultural differences, gangs, cults, high school cliques, tribes, war even.... be interesting I think) Is there a self identity in those societies/cultures or is the group more important then the individual self? If so where does the self go? Or is there a self?

Could look at the stages of self from baby to preschooler to school child to stages in adulthood. How the world view changes as the inner view changes.

Or do something silly like does a dog have a sense of self... tie it into comparing to humans somehow or something. People like funny stuff or extreme examples to illustrate a point.

Sounds quite interesting or like it could be so don't get stuck on what other people would find interesting in a project about self. Go with what you find interesting and are busting to find out about. The more interested in your topic the more they will be interested in what you have to say because you will be enthusiastic and confident and informed. That always makes for a good presentation.

things about psychology that personally interest me:
sanity/insanity, things that drive people mad. it's brilliant actually
fear. what it means to fear, fear itself
dreams and nightmares, how its symbolic of everyday life
