I dont want to do any wars, ancient stuff, royal families or space topics.
 
What about Prohibition?
Or history of a sport - baseball, football, all pasttimes with histories linked to wartime etc (like the womens baseballe league when men were off at war. It doesn't focus on war, but is more interesting bc of the circumstances).

History of the railroad, or the first automobile (or electric automobiles, which they actually had in the early 1900s):
 
Well want the hell do you want to do you took out almost all the options for history.
