I need driving help, and tips and pointers on how to turn correctly?

So today was my birthday, went and got my permit, and Im fine at driving, infact I love it, just a significant part of my driving skills is off. Turning. Acceleration is fine, and braking is fine( at stop lights and such, but not while turning). I feel I need to brake alot sooner than I am, because much force is directed toward the left when making a right turn for example.The main reason why I dont want to slow down too soon is because i fear either coming to a stop before the turn on accident, and/or getting into a rear end accident because Im going too slow on a 55mph road. help?
