Ok so I want to connect my smart blue ray player to the internet. I doesnt have a build in wifi so i have to use a wired connection. I just bought a Wireless thing so I don't have to get a long cable (mmodem is downstairs and blue ray is upstairs). The problem now is i dont know how to get my wireless receiver to pick up my internet signal. Does anyone know how to set it up without using cable, like a better alternative to get wifi on my blue ray?

You need to have two wireless routers made by the same company or one wireless router and a wireless bridge, a router can be turned into a wireless bridge but it is not an easy process; you have to alter IP addresses by hand and change settings with in the soft wear, of the router; also you run the risk of the router resetting itself if the power goes off or if you turn the unit off...its probably simpler and not any more expensive to simply buy a doggle from the Blu ray manufacture that is made for your player....

oh hook it up to your lap top but turn your WLAN off on your laptop so it has to use the wireless adapter you bought. then set it up, disconnect it, reconnect to your bluray player and your good to go.

to turn off WLAN there is a button on you laptop that looks like the wireless sign, its either a button or a slider thing that slides to on or off

It is not going to work. Those wireless system has to be in the same room without any walls in between to block the signal.
