I just bought an iPhone 3G second hand from a guy who got it in Canada. It worked fine in Canada but I need to unlock it now to use my Irish simcard in it.
I've no experience unlocking iPhones so I'd really appreciate some help with this. When I try to turn on the phone it shows a screen telling me to connect the phone to iTunes. I don't know what version the firmware is because I can't get past this screen.
Does anyone know of a good tutorial on how to unlock this phone? I'm concerned about making a mistake which may turn the phone into little more than an expensive paperweight so I want the opinion of someone who knows more on this than me.
