I need help upgrading my 2001 nissan sentra gxe. ?

Besides obvious visual upgrades I can do like bumper kits, lights..etc. What are some performance upgrades you guys recommend to start with? And what are some brands I should look into for these additions? Much help would be appreciated since I don't know too much about cars and where to start :/
(I'm not looking on spending too much, so turbos and engine swaps are out of the question)

One thing i can recommend is a cold air induction system which is an upgrade to the intake. It will help you increase horsepower by adding more air. It also cools the air while bringing it in. The colder the air..... the better. A brand I can recommend is K&N. Also, check out turbochargers and exaust systems. Remeber your output is just as important as your output. upgrades to the exaust system can also help to provide horsepower. I recommend flowmaster or dynaflow systems for this upgrade. Best of luck
