I need some help related to torrents...?

okay, so this is the condition, when my brother downloads any thing using torrents, then on my laptop, the internet browsing speed is soo slow that its almost un usable. i use router btw. so what can i do to atleast be able to browse a bit faster. only answer if you have a solution/don't spam.

Tell your brother to limit the upload rate on his torrents, whatever it is cut it by two thirds. Also tell him only two torrents at a time. The main thing that messes up the internet when people are downloading torrents is that they are maxing out the upload bandwidth leaving nothing for anything else. This makes it impossible for you to surf or do anything since you can't communicate with websites.
