...get that amount reduced by Rogers? I recently visited the US from Canada and didn't realize that roaming charges existed for text messages, needless to say, Rogers charged me an OBSCENE amount of money for that week, do you think I can get any of that money back?
 
You should be familiar with your plan before you go, and that's what they'll tell you. However they will likely look at how long you have been with them, your payment history, how often you complain and ask for credits and make a decision based on that. Just keep in mind when you ask that it's your fault for not finding out before you left, and ask nicely.
 
No. Same thing happened to me when I visited Detroit. They will tell you that you should have read the fine print...
