I think I need to clean the lens in my LG DVD player as the quality of the DVDs?

in back was poor even though they were new DVDs so I bought "Fixity Lens DVD/CD Laser Lens Cleaner "it is the one with tiny brushes on it.
it works in my computer but it will not play in the DVD player it says "unknown Disc" or "No disc" what can I do to get it to play it justs keeps ejecting the disc
