...Christian religion? But every time I come across a fulfilled prophecy in the New Testament, and I read the corresponding scripture in the Old Testament, the context is clearly irrelevant to the New Testament application of it.

Am I supposed to not cross reference these things? Do I need to be a Christian before reading the Bible?

You don't need a Christian before reading the bible. You need the wisdom that comes from the Holy Spirit to interpret what you're reading. To the unsaved, the bible is written in a different language!

it helps esp if you don't have a footnote Bible....isa 53 said JESUS WOULD COME AND HE DID...

I dont know what prophecies you are referring to. Some were fulfilled in the Old Testament and some in the New. Many of course are unfulfilled as we speak.

By all means you owe it to yourself to discover the truth before becoming involved in anything and the Bible as you are probably aware instructs us to do this. May God bless you in your study and may you discover His love.

Even if you say fulfilled prophecy's, the only evidence for that is the bible itself. Using the bible as evidence for the credibility of the bible is kinda meh.

Right then. Im not sure I understand.

I never really read the Bible, I am Christian but Im sorry, I dont read the scriptures.

Remember, things might have gotten mixed up in the writing stage. Before this it was all oral, so it would have gotten changed in attempts to sensationalise and pretend they didnt forget it.

Almost, but you should close your mind to reality before reading! tg
