I have two kicker cvr 12s dual 4 ohm voice coils 400 rms with a peak of 800 each. When i had them put in the box the person took a wire from one positive and one neg..so that voice coil isn't receiving any power. He did that on both subs...and he then hooked up the other voice coils to my kac-929 1000 watt two channel amp. The amps specs are @ 4 ohms 150x2 and at 2 ohms 230x2 ,so how many watts and ohms am i actually getting? And why did he leave one voice coil without power?

are you sure there wasn't a jumper wire somewhere from coil to coil?

There are two logical wiring options: http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_4-ohm_2ch.jpg

and

Either way they'd get 230w each.

If there is really only one coil from each sub being used you're getting 150w each.
