I would like to make a text abridged for elfenlied.?

I want my next project to be a abridged series of elfenlied. I know however that I would need tons of voice actors, and I can only do so many voices by myself. Thats why ive decided to just do it with the Japanese episodes and have my own custom text translate them. I'm wondering what the best program is for simple text addition? Something small and fast is preferable, I don't want anything fancy. Thanks.
