a length of years? It is said that concentrated nicotine (pure nicotine) in the form of a few drops can kill one during the length of 12 hours. Is this true or is the use of pure nicotine just a slow poison during a length of years as happens by smoking cigarettes continuously? There must be a difference, I guess.

Our lungs are shaped for an organism that has its rib cage horizontal to the ground. Consequently, once something gets into the lungs, it either stays in, respires back out, is absorbed into the blood stream from a concentrated state, or is coughed out.

Nicotine (and tar, and...) concentrates and does its damage in the alveoli.

Here is a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for nicotine:

Somehow, if it affects the nervous system, and can even penetrate skin, I think it would take "a few drops" minutes, not hours, to kill. I guess that explains why a "chaw" gives you a similar buzz.
