If God wants our freewill love then why did He command it?

You cant make something mandatory and it be freewill at the same time.

Jesus said the most important commandmant was,"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'"

Mandatory love? That is an oxymoron. Anyone agree?
 
Commandments are not mandatory they are prerequisites to please God. Just like a commandment of marriage is love.
