...trouble/search my stuff? I never lived or been to a college dorm...but I heard they search/check your stuff for drugs..etc if they want...idk if they would get me in trouble if I braught a bunch of my pirated dvd's to keep and watch

Most schools wont search yoru stuff (legally)

however, if you sign anything for your dorm room be sure to read anything that may explain what is not allowed.
Also make sure that you do not waive any rights (ie the right to privacy and not have your stuff searched).

No. Most schools (unless they are crazy religious fanatics) never go in your room and are not allowed to search through your things. They honestly don't care and have much better things to do. I have never even seen a faculty member or someone who isn't a student in the dorms.
