I have a 42-inch 720p/1080i lg plasma tv and I've been wondering if it's worth buying a bluray player when my tv is not 1080p and the bluray is1080p will it play on my tv? and will it be down converted to 720P or dvd quality or none?
i have an xbox 360
I agree with Patrick. If you do decide to get a blueray player, get the PS3. I LOVE it to the point where I might actually be IN love with it.....This will also open a lot of other HD doors for you besides just the capability to play blueray discs. The Playstation store has a movies section where you can download videos to own, or rent in standard definition or HD. They are about $3 to rent for standard and $5 for HD. It saves the hassle of having to go to a stupid video store or for paying $30 for a new blueray movie that you'll only watch one time.
TO DIRECTLY ANSWER YOUR QUESTION THOUGH. YES IT IS WORTH IT. Most PS3 games only play in 720p and do not even reach 1080. If you are watching a movie and the movie has a capacity to play in 1080, but your tv will only play in 720, the movie will be shown in 720, because that is all the higher the resolution output on your tv is.
Yeah it'll play. The Blu-Ray Player you should get is a PS3 because it is the cheapest one I've seen. Get the Slim PS3 which is only 300 clams and has Blu Ray.
