If I Switch back to Windows Media Player 8 will DRM disappear?

I have windows media player 9, and I'm currently tried to get rid of DRM so I can put songs from BearShare onto my ipod. I was wondering would Windows Media Player 8 not notice the DRM since it wasn't created when Media Player 8 was?
I've tried using free trial WMA protected files to MP3 converters, but they are either to expensive or only transfer up to a minute.
Anyone, Found anything?
