How would I find a temple or whatever type of church they practice in?
Oh, by the way... I'm white so this is all new to me.

Buddhanet has a huge worldwide database of Buddhist gatherings:

In the West, Buddhists will often meet in churches or social halls, since there aren't a lot of Buddhist temples. There are a lot of retreats you can participate in, too. Lots of good resources out there, but start with Buddhanet and see what's close to where you live.

Good luck!

There are difference Sect/Clans in Buddhism, So you have to know which Sect/Clans teaching you're interested in before joining one of this temple. Thanks you.

it's called "buddhism" and like the last question someone asked like this, I have to ask you. why would you want to join a religion you know nothing about?

I agree with Matt- why join a religion you know absolutelty nothing about?

I would recommend you research their teachings online to see if they truly fit your beliefs.

If so, I'm sure you can locate a local temple by doing a simple online search.

It's called Buddhism, and you should probably learn a lot more about it first. It's kind of insulting to people who take their religion seriously, when people pop in and out like it were some sort of trend.

Most major cities will have a Buddhist community. If you are curious about it, it is better to ask them "I've heard of Buddhism, but don't know much about it, and am curious. What can you tell me?" There are different schools of Buddhist thought, just like any other major religion, just so you know ahead of time.
