He might be offended by you greeting him differently just because he's Muslim. Also, his being Muslim doesn't automatically mean he's Arab. In fact, the majority of Muslims are not Arabs.

Just greet him like you would anybody else.

Don't automatically assume that just because we're Muslims, we are sensitive in all stuffs, we're only sensitive when it comes to religion but other stuffs? We're just as liberal as others [Trust me, I live in an Islamic country].

You should greet and introduce him the same just as you would greet and introduce any important men [assuming he's an important person]. Just don't touch the issues/problems relating to Islam and Muslims unless it is relevant to what you guys are discussing [Anyways, do you really need to touch the issue when it's not important to what you're discussing?].

Even if you do offend him, you can always apologise and it's not like he's going to slay you. Most of us are not like what the Western media portrays us, especially Muslims in liberal countries.
